This is how I spent my summer vacation: 3 nights in Amsterdam, 4 nights in North Wales, 17 nights in Ireland (including 14 nights at a farm house rental on the west coast), 4 nights in Normandy, 3 nights in Paris, and 3 nights in London. In total, we went to 6 castles, 6 cathedrals, 9 museums, and 5 other sights of interest. We crossed the Irish sea on a ferry, took the train under the English Channel from Paris to London, and rented two cars, one in France and one in Ireland. The rental car in Ireland required driving on the left side of road and shifting the manual transmission with my left hand. Ah, the sound of grinding gears in the morning. A great experience!
